We have finally arrived back home after the trip to Phoenix. We had a blast hanging out with friends and family. We got to see Francis, Joni, Chris, Ruth, Makayla, Mom, Carole, Jenni, Rachel, and Baby Hazel. Darrell learned a lot at his class and I had a very relaxing break.

We had dinner at the White Chocolate Grill with my family and Francis. It was really good!

I got to spend some time with little baby Hazel. I was a little sad, but I know that we will have one someday.

We also climbed up Camelback Mountain in the middle of Phoenix. We only got about a quarter of the way up since I was way out of shape. We had fun though and it was an awesome view!

Then the night before we left, we went out to eat at Margarittaville with Ruth, Makayla and Francis. Makayla got a few good photos with the camera and she also got a balloon princess crown that she shared with the guys.

All in all, it was a wonderful week. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with friends and family. It made us want to move closer even more, but we have a few years to go before that is feasible.

We have been getting around quite a bit lately. I figured I would post some photos to share.

We went to the Fair and survived the first rainstorm since April or so.

We also went to the Big Country Balloonfestival in Abilene on September 23.

They Lit up all the hot air balloons at once. It was pretty neat.

Then we headed on down to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and then Austin for the ACA Bat Cruise and watched the bats come out from under the Congress Bridge. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed that weekend.

We went with Kelly and Carla on the Bat Cruise

Those black cloud like things are all made up of bats that came flying out from under the bridge.

The view of Downtown Austin reflecting on the lake at night.

Currently we are in Phoenix on one of our trips and I have pictures, but I haven’t gotten them on my computer yet, so when I get back next week I will try to put some up.

Oh yeah, and as soon as we left Texas to head to Phoenix, it rained really hard our neighbor told us. So we missed probably the biggest rainstorm of the year. :/

But it was totally worth it to be able to see our niece, friends and family.

This has been a busy month!

I have driven to a lot of football games. I have been incredibly busy at work doing a lot of little things.

This past weekend was the beginning of my month long of busy weekends of traveling. I drove a group up to Lubbock. While I was in Lubbock, my dad called and said that they were going to be in my area and wanted to stop and stay with us. So when I got back yesterday I got to spend time with my dad and uncle. It was so much fun!

This weekend I have to drive back to Lubbock on Friday night. Back home by early Saturday morning and then heading down to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and then Austin for the Bat Cruise. Then it is our trip to Phoenix. My mom is going to travel out to see us and is going to bring the baby. So I will get to see my niece!!!

I’m so excited for this month! But alas, I know that it is going to fly by and it will be over all to soon.

Hope y’all have a wonderful month planned!

After 8 long weeks, our cancelled cycle is finally over. It was rough waiting it out, but I really did not want to have to go and get more medications to hurry it up. Now we wait until next year when our HSA fills back up so that we can afford to do more treatments.

Other than that, we have just been staying busy. Labor day weekend we had a nice cool front come in that dropped our temperatures from over 100 to just above 80. It has been a nice cool week. We turned off our air conditioning, opened up all the windows and doors and just hung out outside. We did a couple bike rides around the lake and really enjoyed the week. It actually got cool enough in the morning that I had to start wearing pants to work. 🙂 Unfortunately, the temps are going back up, so we will probably have a hot week next week and then the weather man said that it would be slowly cooling down to fall weather.

We are starting to plan out our trips for October. We are getting excited for all the fun we are going to have. We are heading down to Octoberfest in Fredericksburg, the Bat Cruise in Austin, Phoenix for a week, Houston for a weekend to see a friend, and then we will spend Halloween weekend here with some friends and Darrell’s mom. So much planned, so little time! I’m loving it!

… so little time/money to do them.

We have so many things filling up our calendar lately. Our three big months are: October, December, and April.

October: Darrell wants to go down to Austin and go on a bat cruise (a single night on a cruise to watch the bats fly off for food at dusk). Then we are going to be in Phoenix for a whole week because Darrell has a class to attend that his company is paying for. Then I am driving down to Houston (hopefully) to see a college friend. Then right around Halloween, Lorna is coming out to visit and pick up her motorhome.

December: Not as many things planned as in October, but one big thing. We are planning on heading out to Southern California for the holidays so that we can visit with family and get to see our niece (Hazel) and nephew (due Halloween). We haven’t fully decided on when exactly and if we are heading out.

April: We are still in talks about heading on the cruise in April. It would be a wonderful vacation and some much needed time away (plus it would be with friends and not just us). Then the weekend after we would get back from the cruise, my cousin is getting married in Washington. Plus then about two weeks later is the Beerfestival in California.

So many things and not enough money. We have to pick and choose which things we would like to do. We also don’t know if Darrell’s sister is going to plan her wedding reception in June or not.

Things would be so much easier and more affordable if we lived on the west coast. 😛 (AKA Reasonable driving distance to everything)
