Well, outside of the snowstorms that took over the first half of the month, it was a quick month. Because of the two weeks off of everything with the snow, Edward’s mid-winter break was cancelled and he had to go to school. He was bummed, but it was good to get back into routines. We still got to spend some time with friends. Since it was so cold, we did a lot of indoor fun. The boys loved it.

We spent some time with friends out and about after the main part of the snow was gone.

Darrell did a couple different things and each time took a different kid with him. So each kid got an afternoon with Mom and an afternoon with Dad. Mommy let them bake with her and they were both happy with the outcomes.

Our January was fairly calm. We had some nice weather, so we spent time outside. Edward is getting better on his bike and is ready to move onto the training wheels, but still prefers the strider. It’s mostly because it keeps sending him one way or another instead of straight. We will get him on it soon since he is really to big to be on the strider.

Both boys started Speech therapy this month. Edward needs help with his “s” and “z” sounds. His therapist says he is doing good and improving. Morgan is just slow to start. He doesn’t really want to talk much, so we are working on getting him to start saying words and to begin mimicking us.

We had a crazy busy October. At the beginning of the month, we took the boys to go see the Cirque Du Soleil show Volta. We weren’t completely sure how the boys would do at the show, but we figured the only way to find out was to go. It was an awesome time. The boys had a lot of fun and enjoyed the show. They were on the edge of their seats the whole time watching.

Edward also started Kindergarten at the Montessori school We had been struggling with getting him to focus on writing last year, so his teachers pulled out some new material for him this year. We were excited when he brought home a story that he wrote.

The ducks got some more outside time and really enjoyed that. Darrell also fixed up some more of their pen so he could clean it out.

We did the annual Trick or Treating at Concur and then Darrell took the boys around the neighborhood for Halloween. Morgan likes to help bring the trashcan back up to the house after it is picked up. It is just his size.

We had an awesome September. It was quiet time at home, but we spent lots of time with friends. We had a park playdate, went to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, went to the Bellevue Farmers Market, and played Mini Golf. September is also the time that the Birth Center does their annual Reunion picnic. We love going and catching up with the midwives who delivered Edward and Morgan. It is a fun time of laughter, playing, and face painting.

Haircuts

Prior to Jenni’s wedding at the end of March, the boys were in desperate need of a haircut. Edward waffled back and forth on whether he wanted to go really short again or if he just wanted a trim so he could grow his hair out long. He ended up going short again.

Morgan’s hair was all in his face and we had been putting it off for a long time as we didn’t want to trim his curls. But after weeks of trying to find ways to keep his hair out of his face and his boogers, we went ahead and got him his first haircut. The same barber who did Edward’s first cut did Morgan’s first cut. 🙂 He wasn’t super sure of it, but a lollipop and sitting on Daddy’s lap while getting his hair trimmed made it better for him. He looked like a brand new kid and it took us a few days to get use to the new haircut.

We spent awhile at the barber shop, so the boys found the table with checkers and they played there for awhile. Darrell decided that he wanted a trim too, so we got all the boys all trimmed up and looking good for the wedding. 🙂
