We have been having lots of small issues with the car that keep adding up. It got an oil leak and we took it to the mechanic who said the crankshaft cracked and even after being fixed, he wouldn’t recommend taking it out of the state. So, after a tedious process, we finally said goodbye to the Honda. It served us well and we will miss it. There are lots of good memories in that car.

So, since we had to say good-bye to the Honda and we said good-bye to the Jeep in Texas, that means we needed to get another vehicle. After much fussing and looking, we finally decided on one and we are now the proud owners of a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. So far we love almost everything about it! We love the stow-n-go seating, the space, the fact it is a newer car and that we can easily fit our stuff in it without playing too much tetris. The only thing we aren’t a huge fan of is the gas mileage. It isn’t horrible, but it isn’t the 30-35 mpg we were getting with the car.

Neighbors

One thing Darrell and I are always unsure about when we move is the neighbors. We like to hang out with our neighbors, spend time outside, and just generally be neighborly. At this house, we lucked out. We have some awesome neighbors who are a lot like us and they have an 8 year old daughter. When we first moved in, they brought us over a plate of cookies and a bottle of wine. What’s not to like about that! ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyways, they have a fire pit in their backyard, so we go over when they light it up and hang out. Their daughter comes over and always wants to play with Edward. So far, we are absolutely loving it here! Oh.. and they have a canoe and have invited Darrell out a couple times. He loves that!

Neglected

I know that I haven’t updated in over 2 months. We have been really busy here. After the last post, Darrell went to Chicago for a business conference. Then when he got back, we found a new place, so the first half of the month of May we were packingย and moving. Then we went down to California for a wedding. Came home and Lorna came to visit. We had our anniversary, Pixels birthday, and Edwards birthday. Then Darrell left for Nashville for another business conference, Lorna left and then Edward came down with a fever.

Now that Darrell is back, Edward is feeling better, maybe I will get a chance to do another big update. Once Edward is in bed, hopefully I will have the energy to do something other than sit on the couch watching movies and then going to bed. i am hoping to get it done before the end of the month.

PS. I am backdating the posts, so go ahead and scroll back to April. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well.. I did it again. It took me almost 3 months to update this time. We have been really busy in the last 3 months though.

We did a weeklong trip to Abilene for Darrell’s work Christmas party in the first half of December. He was excited because he won an Xbox One at the party and he doesn’t usually win anything. I was excited because I was able to go and see everyone and introduce them to Edward. Which, he handled the whole traveling thing really well. No issues on the flights. He was either sleeping, looking out the window, or charming our neighboring passengers.

Then we came home for a little over a week and then flew down to San Diego for the Holidays to spend time with Sharyn’s family and some of Darrell’s family. We were there for 2 weeks and time just flew by. I did end up getting sick on New Years, but it was a quick 24 hour bug that laid me flat. I was fine the next day though. We wish we were able to see more family, but we took it easy this time and it was one of the first trips we have taken that was more like a relaxing vacation than anything else.

We made it home late on a Tuesday and Thursday was Edward’s Flu booster appointment, Friday was the FTC qualifying match, and Saturday was the Regional match for FTC. Unfortunately, Edward woke up sick on Saturday. I stayed home while Darrell went and his team actually made it to state (which is this Sunday 1/26). By Monday, I caught what Edward had, Wednesday: Darrell caught it, Thursday: Edward was better, Saturday: Darrell was better. I finally got over it two days ago. We are giving it a little bit of time before Edward and I head out and do things. It was just a cold (runny nose, sore throat, etc). We were just glad that there wasn’t a fever. So Edward handled his first cold like a boss. Hardly any fussing, just a cough and runny nose.

I am going to try to keep up with the updates, but we have a lot planned in the next two months: 1/31-2/2: Darrell’s friend in town, 2/7: Darrell’s Birthday and MAS concert, 2/7-2/10: Lorna visits, 2/18-3/1: East Coast trip (DC, New York, Connecticut). No idea yet on plans for March, but I know there will be something with the way we are going. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now that I am caught up, I am going to sign off and hopefully I will be back before April. ๐Ÿ™‚

8 years

On September 4, 2005, Darrell and I officially began dating. It has been a long road with many bumps along the way, but we are happy. We still expect many more bumps as the years continue, but hopefully none as devastating as the last two we endured. I love this man! ๐Ÿ™‚
