I know, I know… I keep promising to stay up to date on here, but have failed. It has now been almost 18 months since my last post and there is a reason for it I promise!!

This is my reason:

Yep. We had another baby! Meet Morgan Elliot Finn! He was born on October 21, 2016. It was a fairly rough pregnancy with morning sickness, constant problems popping up (cyst on my ovary, cysts on my eyes, staph infection), baby measurements jumping really fast (went from on time to 5 weeks ahead in 4 weeks), and a week overdue. So we have been really busy on this end. I am going to try to get some updates out as I get a chance and since Morgan is now starting to sleep 12 hours at night, I have a little bit more time in my evenings, so this blog is on my forefront.  So there will be more updates to come in the near future. First up though is going to be Morgan’s birth story.

Here is a recent picture of us all:

In January, we had a Flat Stanley from one of Darrell’s coworkers kids, so we went around Seattle and saw a bunch of the typical touristy spots. Edward loved visiting and seeing things.

We also went ahead and took Edward bowling again. He only really likes to play for the first game and part of a second, so we just finished up while he wandered and played in the arcade.

March was a big month for us. I took the boys to Fort Dent Park in Renton.

We also took a trip down to Boonville for the Ross family reunion. It was a long drive, but the boys did great! We stopped in Medford for an hour or two at a kids museum to let the boys get out of their carseats and stretch. Then we finished the drive. We enjoyed spending the long weekend with all the family and Edward loved the attention. We went to Pennyroyal Farm and got to see all their baby goats. Then on the way home, we stopped in Humboldt to visit friends and got to see the Elk herd on the way home. It was a great trip!

There are always a bunch of stuff going on for the Christmas holidays in Seattle. This year, we took advantage of some things we hadn’t before and we loved doing them. First up, we took the link train downtown and wandered around to see the sights down there. We wandered through the Sheraton Hotel’s Gingerbread village, the Olympic Fairmont Hotel’s Christmas Tree Festival and their Teddy Bear room. Then we grabbed the monorail and headed towards the Armory and the Seattle Center to see the Space Needle, the train setup, and we took Edward ice skating for his first time. He was nervous at first, but after a bit, he became more stable and loved going around.

We also went to Woodland Park Zoo and did Zoolights. It is the one thing we try to make sure we do each year. Edward loves seeing the lights and playing at the Zoomasium with all the snowballs they have.

We got a snow day and the neighborhood kids had a blast sliding down our street. Edward and Darrell spent a good portion of the day outside. They sled down the street, built some snowmen in the park, and even built an igloo. Darrell also brought out a bunch of hotchocolate for the kids to drink and they all loved that.

We took some family photos for Christmas Cards and even went and did our annual Santa Photo. We have been doing the Santa Photo since Edward was a year old and we have made it to see the same Santa thus far. We love him!

And last but not least, we began something we hope is a tradition. Edward loves watching the Polar Express, so we decided to do a Polar Express movie night and invite his friends. We put the movie on, got some pizza and hot chocolate and all watched. Since most of the mommy friends I have love to bake, we added a side mommy thing and did a cookie exchange. There were lots of cookies to go around and everyone seemed to love it. I made these cute little snowmen with Reese’s in them for each family to take one home.

It was an amazing Christmas. We have 2 kids now! Edward is super excited for Christmas now. He is finally super excited and into Christmas, so we get to do all sorts of fun stuff. We got to do our annual trip to Swansons and Edward loves looking at the train display and seeing the reindeer. This year was great because we happened to show up while there was a Santa wandering around and Edward loved it because he had candy canes in his bag. 🙂
