With what a big thing fingerpainting was with Edward, I decided to go ahead and make some slime for him. Boy oh boy did he love that! It kept the toddler boy busy for almost 2 hours. Just pulling it around and feeling it in his hands and all over the place. I will probably make a bit more later once I get more ingredients.

I have been spending quite a few nights working on posts to try to catch up again. I keep falling behind since our summers are super busy, and then once fall kicks in, Robot season starts, then school starts for Darrell and things just get waylaid. I think I might make a new years resolution to try to update the blog at least once every other week. We will see. So for now, here are the August posts with September and October coming as they will. 🙂
Our alma mater had a football game at CWU and since the whole band wasn’t coming up, there was an alumni contingent who went ahead and went out to see the game and play. We headed over the mountains to Ellensburg and spent some time with friends. We were of course late because of Edward. However, even getting there late, the football team rocked and won hardcore! And the small but mighty band rocked as well. We were definitely overshadowed by the other band and they didn’t really let us get much playing in, but we still played.
In the mom’s group, one of the new things we are doing is Sports Thursday’s. We are going between Disc Golf and Soccer right now. We might add in swimming or something else later. This was our first soccer one and Edward was shy at first, but got into it and loved it by the end. Except he just wanted to sit in the goals.
Edward and I headed down to San Diego to visit with Sharyn’s family for 10 days. We were originally going down for my folks’ 30th wedding anniversary party they were going to have. Things didn’t come together, so they ended up canceling it and we all went out to dinner (all of us girls were there). We spent a glorious week just hanging out and having fun with the entire family. Edward loved spending the time playing with his cousin Hazel. We went out to Balboa Park and then did little things here and there.

And of course, the day before we were leaving, Edward found a dumbbell and then was playing with it in the living room. He decided that the fish, Hella, needed to play too, so he threw the dumbbell at the fishtank. Mom and I were in the kitchen and heard the crash and then the splash as almost 8 gallons of water hit the carpeted floor. Edward went running from the room and was scared and kept telling me “Hella gonna get me.” I felt bad for him, but I can’t stop laughing about it. At least, I am ok with laughing about it now that we are not trying to clean water up out of the carpet. So, needless to say, Hella got a brand new pad before we left. 🙂
On the way home to see Daddy!
