Family Picture

I am working on getting one of those cool 5 generations photo that is all over pinterest right now. We are doing the photo within photo because my great-grandmother lives in Wisconsin and is almost 98 years old, so I can’t see us being able to get everyone out there for the photo, so we have to make do. Edward has been in love with taking pictures and wanted to take all the pictures, so I set it up and let him take some. Of course, I used him as the model while I was getting the positioning down:

And then after we took our generations photo, Edward wanted to get into the photo with us, so we took one with him:

Painting

Surprisingly, I haven’t really done much painting with Edward. When he was little, he hated getting his hands dirty, so I figured fingerprinting was not going to happen and it got put on a back burner.

I decided to finally give it a shot since he wanted us to get his face painted at the Birth Center Picnic. It took a little while for me to pull them out, but when I did, he loved it! Of course, it ended up almost everywhere but where he was suppose to keep it, but he loved it!

We are still struggling with figuring out this potty training thing. He gets the idea and wants to be in underwear, but he doesn’t want to stop and go to the bathroom. We want to put him back into diapers, but he refuses to get out of his big boy underwear. We have given up and just leave him in underwear and clean up messes. Oh well. We didn’t expect it to happen overnight yet. It will click sometime.

Other than that, he is loving being a toddler with thoughts and opinions. He sure throws them around at us a lot. He is in love with the movie “Cars” and would watch it multiple times a day if we let him.

He had a little accident on our driveway. He held onto a hula hoop the neighbors daughter was pulling around and then hit the pavement.

He is also really big on helping mommy in the kitchen. He loves licking spoons and bowls when I am done, testing the doughs as I am making them (each step is quality checked :P) and turning the mixer on and off. I think his favorite though is helping to roll out the doughs. I let him roll out the pizza doughs a lot.

First Haircut

It was time. At almost 28 months in, Edward’s hair was beginning to look a little shaggy. Darrell needed a haircut, so we took them both in so Edward could watch Daddy and not be so worried about it. It went great! He was a little apprehensive, but loved it by the end. Probably helped that afterwards, Barber Don gave him 5 suckers (1 for each of the next 5 days, but Mommy didn’t keep up with that). He went in looking like a little toddler and came out looking like a little boy. I think he aged by 2 years just getting his haircut.

Great Wheel

I got a day to myself!!!!

By that, I mean that one of the moms in my moms group had a birthday and the 4 of us went out to a Saturday brunch on the Seattle Downtown Waterfront. It was a lovely brunch and then we walked along the waterfront. One of the things we had talked about doing was going on the Great Wheel, but we always had the little’s with us. This time, we didn’t. So we all jumped in line and took a trip. The view was amazing and the weather was perfect. We spent a little bit longer out and about than we planned, but it was fabulous!
