New Kitty

After Poleeko ran away in May, we talked about waiting awhile and then getting another cat so that Zedd wouldn’t be lonely as he was still sulking around the house. We weren’t planning on getting another cat until sometime early 2016 or later than that giving us time to come to terms and seeing how Zedd handled being an only cat for the first time in his life. However, one of the band members in the Pipe band had a mother in law who found a “fat” stray cat and “fat” turned into 5 kittens. Now she was looking for homes for them. We talked and decided that maybe we could do it and then the kitten would grow up with Edward. We finally got the kitten on August 24 and have slowly been acclimating her to Zedd. There was a bunch of hissing at each other the first couple days, so we kept her locked up in the guest bedroom. Now they tolerate each other kind of. There is no hissing, but neither of them want anything to do with the other. We hope things get better.

But for now, meet the newest Ross addition, Astrid:

Update: We are happy to say that by the end of September, they are now happily chasing each other, eating from the same dish, cuddling together and all around playing. Astrid has taken over the cat tree and she spends a lot of time running around downstairs while Edward is awake which is making Zedd get out of his “hide all day” habit and now we see a little more of him. He still isn’t fond of Edward, but he remembers a time when there wasn’t a little terror who would chase them and scream at them. 😛

Bowling

After the Grand Coulee Dam tours, we headed down to Pullman to visit some friends. They were going bowling on Saturday, so we went and took Edward for his first time bowling. We had a blast and Edward was so cute with his hijinks when he rolled the ball down the lanes.

The bowling alley also had an arcade and after Edward finished his first game, he was not interested anymore and was more interested in the arcade. Then on the way home, we stopped at a fruit stand and picked up some boxes of fruits.

We also got to see a wonderful sunset on our way home. I know it was probably really due to the smoke from the fires, but still beautiful none the less.

Darrell got an opportunity to head out to Eastern Washington to take a tour of the Grand Coulee Dam. It was on a Friday and since it was so far away, we decided to all go as a family and then visit some friends up in the Okanogan. Unfortunately, the visiting friends in the Okanogan didn’t happen because of the Fires in Eastern Washington. But we went ahead and then headed down to Pullman to visit some band friends (see: Bowling). So here are the photos of our tours (Darrell got the special one and Edward and I took the public one) of the Grand Coulee Dam.

Bubbles

Back in June, we attended the Solstice Fair Parade and saw a lady blowing big bubbles that popped slowly. Darrell and Edward loved it, so we looked into making our own. Since our schedule slowed down a little bit, we finally did it. After playing around outside at our house, we took them to a friends house and oh boy did all the kids have fun! It is a very popular thing right now in the Ross Household.

Edward also saw a little wagon and a tire pump and decided that the hard tires were getting a little low. He spent a few minutes working on those tires.

And of course, every time we go to visit these friends, not only do we have AMAZING food, but the desserts are fabulous as well. Granted, this time, I made the rice crispie treats.

Disc Golf

We have spent some time out and about with our moms group. Recently, we started to do Disc Golf. Edward is loving throwing the frisbees. I love watching how focused he gets when he is concentrating on throwing them. And he has gotten good at it too! Sometimes his fly flatter than mine!
