On Saturday we headed out to Paine Field for their Aviation Day. We were able to see all sorts of planes up close and also got to watch them take off and fly around. Edward loved every minute of it.

We had the honor of a friend inviting us to go visit the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett. Edward loved it. He was just enthralled. There was so much to do that he couldn’t focus on anything. We went early-ish morning and it was nice. There weren’t a lot of people there until right around lunchtime. Edward spent most of his time hanging out in the music room or in front of anything with a wheel. 😛 Overall he had fun.
I have been attempting many different sensory things for Edward. Thus far, not many of them have gone over very well.
Cotton balls in colored water – nope
painting in the bath tub – nope
colored spaghetti – Yay!
Homemade play dough – nope
bean shaker – nope
Pudding painting – nope
So.. I was a little hesitant to try this one, but I thought “why not?” Worse case scenario, I just end up with a mix of pretty rice. So off I went.
First step: color the rice.
Then.. you add a child.
And then you wait to see what happens next.
I think that I would call this a happy child.
So all in all, it was a success. Except for the fact that I just put him at the table and he got rice everywhere. I might rethink exactly where to put it next time I do it. I spent a little while cleaning up (which Edward did help me vacuum). So it was well worth the 20 minutes of fun he had.
