I took this HPT yesterday. I spent the day hoping that the blood test would show the same thing that the pregnancy test did and Darrell wanted to wait for the blood results before he got even remotely excited. The second line isn’t quite as dark as it was when I tested for Pixel. I was worried that beta numbers wouldn’t match the HPT and it would be a chemical pregnancy.

Beta results are in: 83. It is a lot lower than Pixel, but every pregnancy has different numbers. The nurse said it is a good strong number and the doctor said that everything looks great. I go back in for another Beta on Thursday, so keep your fingers crossed for a good doubling time.

I am hoping that this little bug sticks and we end up bringing home a healthy baby in June. We still have a couple more beta tests until we get to our ultrasound. The ultrasound won’t be until probably around Oct 15 when I will be 6w6d.

Once Bitten, Twice Shy. This is going to be a very long 36 weeks. (since I am already considered 4 weeks pregnant).

Baby Ross is due June 4, 2013.

We are still cautious about everything as we do know there are a lot of factors in play right now. Please don’t say anything to us on Facebook about the pregnancy. I have temporarily disabled the facebook comments here because of this. I will re-enable them when we are ready to share on Facebook. You can message us privately, comment here, or call us if you so desire. We appreciate all the love and support you have given us in the last 18 months.

Hopefully we will be able to actually finish the nursery we started and add a Baby to the mix.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is testing day. I am glad the two-week wait is over. This weekend definitely allowed us to not completely think about treatments. With the exception of friends asking us questions about it because they don’t understand. I am glad that we can inform others.

Ahhh… in 14 hours I get my blood drawn and then it is another wait until Amy, our nurse, calls with the results.

*Fingers Crossed*

We had an awesome weekend in Austin!! We had originally planned to leave Abilene at 5pm on Friday to slowly make our way down to Austin, but our plans changed. My dad called me around 8:30 that morning and said that they would be in Abilene around 5pm. I love getting to see my Dad and I don’t get to see him that often. So we pushed back our departure time to 6(ish).

Dad and Uncle Mike showed up at 5 and so we hung out for about an hour and then let them crash at our house to get some rest before finishing their load back to California. They always seem to stop by when we have stuff planned, but they never know where their loads are going to take them until last minute. Hopefully next time we will be home with nothing planned. 🙂

We finally left Abilene around 6:15 and headed straight for the hotel. We stayed in Downtown Austin so we could mostly walk places. We got to the hotel around 10:30 pm. After we checked in, we headed out to get some dinner and walk around on Sixth Street. It was fun. It really reminded us of Bourbon street in New Orleans. It was ridiculously crowded. We walked Sixth street and then we decided to head down to Fourth Street and the Warehouse district. I got tired, so I walked back to the hotel and Darrell and our friend Drew stayed and hung out for another hour and a half till the bars closed. They seemed to have a fabulous time.

On Saturday we just hung around and didn’t do much in the morning. I watched TV quietly while the guys slept. Darrell and I went up to brunch around 10:30. After brunch we decided to go check out the Gay Pride Festival that Austin had going on. We drove over there and hung out for a couple of hours. It was fun. There were a lot of different booths, a drag queen singing, lots of games, and all around fun times.

After the Pride Festival, we headed back to the hotel to rest and cool down for a little bit before heading to Lady Bird Johnson Lake for the Bat Cruise which was the main reason we went to Austin. Last year Kelly and Carla went with us. This year, Tim, Dana, and Drew joined us. It was fun. The boat went the other way up the river before the bats, so we got to see a different side of Austin.

We went under the bridge and were able to look up and see the cracks on the bottom of the bridge where the bats roost. The stains are the bat guano and it is stinky and loud under there. The story is that they wanted to widen Congress Street Bridge, but they didn’t want to get rid of the current bridge. So instead, they cut the current bridge into slices and then left the gaps underneath and filled them up top. That’s where the bats decided they would roost. They are Mexican Free-tail bats. There are about 1.5 million of them under the bridge.

We got off of the Bat Cruise and started heading back to our hotel, but I forgot that the Gay Pride Parade was going on, so we ended up spending probably close to an hour in traffic. When we finally made it to the hotel, a friend of Cory’s, Sa’ndor, was waiting and we headed out to dinner with him. It was fun. I tried the fish and chips at the pub, but it still didn’t match up to the fish and chips from California that I am use to. :/ We hung out in downtown Austin again until close to midnight.

Sunday was just a day to relax and head back home. We went out to Juan and a Million for breakfast (cheap!!!). Then we checked out of the hotel and were trying to decide on where to go. We ended up going to South Congress food trucks for some cupcakes first. 🙂 Darrell got the Double Dose which is Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting. I got the Sweetberry which is Strawberry cake with Strawberry cream cheese frosting. If you are ever in the Austin area, I highly recommend this food truck.

We sat around and ate our cupcakes and then we decided to go check out Barton Springs to see if it was really crowded since it was a hot day. Barton Springs is awesome!! It is built around an aquifer and not treated at all. It is like a river swimming pool. The water was really cold, and the ground was really slippery. I took my time getting in and didn’t spend much time there. Darrell jumped in and headed over to the diving board and did a couple dives. It was nice and relaxing for the few hours we spent there.

Then we began our trek home. We headed back through Fredericksburg so we could get some dinner and because we love the town of Fredericksburg. 🙂 We always stop and eat at the Brewing Company and they have an awesome German Potato Salad. Yummy!!!

So that was what we spent this weekend doing. It was fun and we were a little sad to see Sunday end so fast. But it was all around a great time. Next time we head down to Austin, I am thinking that Barton Springs will be on our list again.

We have less than a week until we test. I have been trying not to read to much into symptoms because the Prometrium supplement gives the same symptoms as early pregnancy. I am tired all the time. I have been taking naps during the day, going to bed early and waking up late. I have had other symptoms, but like I said, I can’t attribute it to anything other than supplement right now.

I got a phone call from the hospital yesterday and they have Pixel’s pictures. They have put them in the mail, so hopefully I will have them by this weekend or early next week. I am really excited about that! It is a bittersweet excitement because I know this is the last thing I have been looking forward to getting of Pixels. After this, there is nothing else of his we will ever receive. *sigh*

We have two more days until we head down to Austin for the weekend. I am really excited about that. We have a hotel near downtown, so we are going to probably spend some time wandering 6th street and other downtown areas we didn’t get to see last year. We have three other friends going, so we should definitely have a blast!

Today is 3 days past. We still have 11 more to go.

The massive cramping that I got right after the IUI has gone away. It lasted for about 36 hours where all I wanted to do was lay around and watch movies. (which I did :P)

The weather outside has dropped from mid to upper 90’s to low 70’s and it has been raining for the last two days, so that has also fueled my desire to just lay around and watch movies. I love the rain and am glad that we are finally starting to get our fall. We are still a few inches shy of normal for the year, but every little bit helps.

Due to this rapid temperature drop, I feel sick. This is not helping my mood any. I am trying not to get sick, so I have started to take the vitamins the midwife recommended during the pregnancy in May when I got sick.

And to top all of this off, something happened to my right eyelid. I don’t know if I got bit or if I am having an allergic reaction to something. It has been a little sore since yesterday, but only when I rubbed my eyes. Today, it hurts when I blink and it is starting to swell up. I have no idea what could cause this. I am so not enjoying it right now.

Darrell has quite a few plans in place for tomorrow, so I will be on my own during much of the day. He is going to go play tennis with a friend, then he is going to hang out and play video games with another friend before we both go over to yet another friends house for a dinner party/hangout. Whew.

Next week we are prepping for a long weekend. We decided to go ahead and head down to Austin for another Bat Cruise. We decided this time to head down on Friday and hang out in Austin for the whole weekend instead of just for 24 hours. I think it will be fun. It definitely will give me something to do to keep my mind off this countdown temporarily.

That’s about it going on around here.
