We have been really busy lately. So much has happened in the last week and a half.

We got the jeep fixed. It ended up being about $320, but we needed it done. Once we get pregnant, we will start looking for a car to replace the jeep. But we are waiting until we have to as our mechanic said that it would give us a few more years after doing a full checkup on it. 🙂

My sister-in-law gave birth to a baby boy on October 20. He is a healthy, big baby named Anders. Momma, Baby, and Daddy are doing great! We are excited to get to see them in December.

Lorna came into Town on thursday and we didn’t end up getting the Futon until Monday as the company accidentally ordered a full instead of a queen. So they had to reorder another one and it didn’t arrive till Monday. At least we ended up getting it though.

I headed down to Houston Friday and Saturday. Spent some quality time with my good friend Sarah. Had a few drinks and enjoyed each others company and catching up. It was a short trip, but full of a lot of fun.

I have been really busy at work. It’s a good thing, but been keeping me really busy. Plus we have been helping Lorna fix up her motorhome. We have gotten really far on it and we are just putting the final touches on the motorhome and getting it ready for her to take home next week.

Last night, we drove to Dallas and enjoyed a small halloween party with the Metroplex Athiest group. We had a lot of fun.

So that is basically our last week or so in a nutshell. We have been busy people, but we feel that we are getting quite a bit done and we are excited to spend the next month home. There are a few things we have planned in December before our big trip to SoCal, but we still have a month until then.

I was having a good week thus far relaxing after coming home to a broken pizza stone that the cats knocked off of the top of the fridge (and it landed on Poleeko’s tail, but he is okay). We had unpacked and were just relaxing while getting ready for Lorna to come visit and me to head to Houston to visit de Mort. It wasn’t going to be relaxing for long. 🙁

We had ordered a futon so that we would have the bed space in the extra room for when people come to visit and it was going to be delivered before Lorna arrived. I figured that giving the company 3 weeks was long enough to allow them to get stuff together and make a trip to Dallas to pick up the futon. I hadn’t heard anything so I called them on Tuesday and at first they were like “we can’t guarantee any specific delivery.” I was really irritated since before we ordered the sales guy said it would only take about 2 weeks to get. They finally told me that they would have it shipped instead and we should have it before Thursday night. So my fingers are crossed for that.

Then this morning, I drove my jeep to work and 1.5 hours later, when I was getting off the route, my coworkers asked me what was leaking under my jeep. Turns out I had a huge puddle the size of the hood under the car that had accumulated in the little amount of time I was gone. It was antifreeze, so I was thinking I might have to replace the radiator again. I headed straight over to the mechanic (as if you get there early, they usually have a little more time to fix things). I was hoping for a quick fix, but I am out of luck. Turns out that my water pump has a hole in it. Since you have to basically take apart half the engine to replace the water pump, it’s going to cost a pretty penny. :/ As long as he gets it fixed before I leave Friday morning so that Darrell and Lorna have a car to get around this weekend.

It’s Official! We are going to be in Southern California for Christmas!!! We bought our tickets last night. I am really excited since we haven’t spent a holiday with my family since 2008. Plus we will get some more time with our niece and get to meet our nephew who is due in less than 2 weeks. We are excited (or at least I am :P).

So that is what has been up in the last 3 days. There should be more coming in the next few weeks.

We have finally arrived back home after the trip to Phoenix. We had a blast hanging out with friends and family. We got to see Francis, Joni, Chris, Ruth, Makayla, Mom, Carole, Jenni, Rachel, and Baby Hazel. Darrell learned a lot at his class and I had a very relaxing break.

We had dinner at the White Chocolate Grill with my family and Francis. It was really good!

I got to spend some time with little baby Hazel. I was a little sad, but I know that we will have one someday.

We also climbed up Camelback Mountain in the middle of Phoenix. We only got about a quarter of the way up since I was way out of shape. We had fun though and it was an awesome view!

Then the night before we left, we went out to eat at Margarittaville with Ruth, Makayla and Francis. Makayla got a few good photos with the camera and she also got a balloon princess crown that she shared with the guys.

All in all, it was a wonderful week. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with friends and family. It made us want to move closer even more, but we have a few years to go before that is feasible.

We have been getting around quite a bit lately. I figured I would post some photos to share.

We went to the Fair and survived the first rainstorm since April or so.

We also went to the Big Country Balloonfestival in Abilene on September 23.

They Lit up all the hot air balloons at once. It was pretty neat.

Then we headed on down to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and then Austin for the ACA Bat Cruise and watched the bats come out from under the Congress Bridge. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed that weekend.

We went with Kelly and Carla on the Bat Cruise

Those black cloud like things are all made up of bats that came flying out from under the bridge.

The view of Downtown Austin reflecting on the lake at night.

Currently we are in Phoenix on one of our trips and I have pictures, but I haven’t gotten them on my computer yet, so when I get back next week I will try to put some up.

Oh yeah, and as soon as we left Texas to head to Phoenix, it rained really hard our neighbor told us. So we missed probably the biggest rainstorm of the year. :/

But it was totally worth it to be able to see our niece, friends and family.

This has been a busy month!

I have driven to a lot of football games. I have been incredibly busy at work doing a lot of little things.

This past weekend was the beginning of my month long of busy weekends of traveling. I drove a group up to Lubbock. While I was in Lubbock, my dad called and said that they were going to be in my area and wanted to stop and stay with us. So when I got back yesterday I got to spend time with my dad and uncle. It was so much fun!

This weekend I have to drive back to Lubbock on Friday night. Back home by early Saturday morning and then heading down to Fredericksburg for Oktoberfest and then Austin for the Bat Cruise. Then it is our trip to Phoenix. My mom is going to travel out to see us and is going to bring the baby. So I will get to see my niece!!!

I’m so excited for this month! But alas, I know that it is going to fly by and it will be over all to soon.

Hope y’all have a wonderful month planned!
